Vintage bags

As a woman I can say that I nourish myself with good food, good wine (and water when needed ;-) ), beer sometimes (unfortunately I have a weakness also for this beverage, having lived in Dublin for 3 years) and undoubtedly with good outfits. That's my motto: "Dress cool, drink cool, eat cool"!

I love vintage style, I have to say. I think that a combination of a modern look with some stylish vintage accessories is the best you can do to be really "elegant". But be careful, you have to study it properly.

First of all be careful about WHERE you buy your vintage pieces. Second-hand markets, corner markets and so on can be very tricky. You can rather pay few pennies (or euros :-)), thinking that you have done a good deal while you have instead fed your guardrobe with another unuseful "object", like a plastic old bag that you will never be so brave to use for example. It can also happen that you pay a fortune for something not even certified which might not be "real" (I mean that is just a fake or that, if not a fake, conditions are really poor). 

Remember that if old items have not been kept properly, even if branded, they will destroy themselves very quickly.

So what to do? Try to find a reliable second-hand supplier. For sure you will find one in your city. For sure he has the right network and he can tell you which markets are reliable and if the product you want to buy is really worthy.

Do not buy in Internet. You can buy second-hand accessories but not vintage ones. You need to check with your eyes in which conditions they have been kept. This could make the difference.

Finally, if you have the chance, exploit your grandma guardrobe. I have the luck that mine was really fashionable. In each occasion she had the right piece to wear, always with class!

So this post is fully dedicated to her, who passed away some months ago. Thanks to my granny I have a full collection of vintage bags, which she used to give me as a gift when she was alive, certain that I would have enjoyed them. And that's the true. I try to preserve them but I also enjoy them as much as I can!

Angel or devil?

This is a Guess model of shoes that I loved as soon as I saw them be cause of their perfect balance between class and transgression. Guess is not one of MY brands. It reminds me my disco nights style during my teens years.
But this pointed toe shoes made me lose control.
The tiny belt to lace the shoes around the ankle decorated with small studs has an angelic and at the same time rebel note!
Ideal with jeans, better if stretch and ripped and with a short provocative and posh dress to minimize the effect.

Simply cool

I find this model of Lotto Legend "Tokyo" snakers simply cool. It's a modern interpretation with a vintage note of the "historical" and typical running shoes of the '80 and '90, one of the most successful model launched by the company. The Tokyo
Shibuya model has the Hinomaru (Japan flag) symbol on the tongue.
Colours available are so many and it varies from aggressive up to more sober styles.
With a pair of ripped jeans, with jeans shorts or even with informal skirts you just feel at ease as you are.
And you can go and drink a Prosecco with the most invidiable "Nonchalance".

Magliette happiness

"Le cose più belle della vita o sono immorali, o sono illegali, oppure fanno ingrassare".

Questo è una delle celebri frasi di George Bernard Shaw: scrittore, drammaturgo, aforista, linguista e critico musicale irlandese (vi basta?). Peccato che oggi sia diventata inflazionata, tanto da trovarla scritta sulle lavagne e sui siti web di ristoranti, sulle borse modaiole e chi più ne ha più ne metta ...

Ma siamo proprio d'accordo su questa frase? Io aggiungerei "... o fanno ubriacare o svuotano il portafoglio!"... Concetti quest'ultimi che si possono intersecare così come essere uno slegato dall'altro. Ci si può ubriacare spendendo un sacco di soldi con uno Champagne Grand Cru millesimato di chissà quale annata, così come ci si può inebriare comprandosi una borsa costosissima e poi dimenticare l'acquisto pazzo con uno spritz bianco da due euro in un'osteria. 

Ma ci si può anche divertire comprando una di queste "fuorissime" magliette della Happiness che a me piacciono un sacco perchè sono simpatiche ma allo stesso tempo accessibili a tutte le tasche. E ci si diverte un sacco quando si va a comprarle, passando almeno un'ora a guardarle tutte, leggendo le scritte più pazze e trovando quella che più rispecchia la nostra personalità. Queste due mi sono alquanto piaciute:

"Portami rispetto ... e anche uno spritz"

"E' gia' Amore (...a meno che non sia la vodka!)" 

Anche se al posto dello spritz e della vodka io ci avrei messo il vino! E se il vino fosse di una grande annata ancora meglio!

Vino col fondo? Solo se usi le scarpe senza tacchi!

Sambin è un'azienda che produce con metodo biodinamico, dove ogni fase di lavorazione è fatta esclusivamente con l'apporto manuale. I Love it!

Martha 2011 è una fresca Garganega sui lieviti frizzante. Colore aranciato, gusto deciso che entra in bocca invadente. Il lievito si sente eccome per cui deve piacere il vino col fondo.

Ottimo in una serata tranquilla per rilassarsi in modo easy-going.
